I don't really need these or use them nearly as much as I used to.
For similar needs, I think I'll be able to get by using Emacs's own
Abbrev just fine.

I will be using the repository to store my configurations for other
non-Emacs pieces of software. The repository itself will be located
at ~/ rather than ~/.emacs.d/.
